Getting into cross country skiing is a great way to get out and enjoy the outdoors during winter! There are two different styles of cross country skiing to choose from depending on what you are looking for.

Learn about the equipment you need to get started for each technique!

Classic skiing: This is the more traditional style of skiing which involves a diagonal stride technique. When most people think about cross country skiing they picture classic skiing. This can be done in tracks on a groomed trail or you can break your own trail through deeper snow.

Skate skiing: Skate skiing is most similar to the motion of ice skating where you are pushing sideways on the ski. This is often a faster technique than classic but needs a groomed trail to do it effectively.
